TPAO’s Istranca-1 offshore well tested natural gas.  The well, drilled in the Western Black Sea Licence AR/TPO/3920, has a water depth of 85 meters and a total depth of 3650 meters.  Istranca-1 well test proved the existence of hydrocarbons in the Turkish Black Sea outside the 12-Mile territorial waters.

NOC Forum for the Presidents/CEO of the National Oil Companies (NOCs) was established in 2001. Designed specifically for chief executives of the NOCs, the very first gathering was hosted by Algeria in 2001, followed by Norway in 2002, Brazil in 2004, Saudi Arabia in 2006, China in 2008 and Mexico in 2010. The coordination is held by PFC Energy, the founder of NOC Forums.

Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and Ministry of Economy and Energy of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) signed a “Petroleum Services and Production Sharing Contract” for onshore and offshore licences on November 2, 2011.

TPAO and Shell signed a Farm-in and Joint Operating Agreement (“FJOA”) covering offshore Antalya licenses AR/ TPO-XVI/4154, AR/TPO-XVI/4319 and AR/TPO- XVI/4320, on November 23rd 2011.
